To this end, TransMIT GmbH - with around 160 employees - professionally taps and markets the potential of scientists from several research institutions in and outside Hesse at the intersection of science and business.

In particular, directly from the three shareholder universities of TransMIT GmbH (Justus-Liebig-University Giessen, Technische Hochschule Mittelhessen - University of Applied Sciences and Philipps University Marburg), the TransMIT Centers business unit currently offers 175 of these business units innovative products and services from all areas of science and research.

TransMIT GmbH has achieved first place among the 21 larger technology transfer companies in Germany in two rankings commissioned by federal ministries.

TransMIT GmbH's customers include well-known companies from the pharmaceutical/medical, biotechnology, chemical, automotive, plant and mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, optics, information technology, new media, telecommunications, trade and service sectors.

Reference projects include "timm-Clustermanagement für die Medizinwirtschaft in Mittelhessen", the Mathematikum, H-IP-O (Hessian Intellectual Property Organization), Aktionslinie hessen-teleworking, Aktionslinie hessen-biotech!, the science portal of the European Polymer Federation (EPF) and the BMWi-SIGNO projects "KMU-Patentaktion" and "Erfinderfachauskunft".

TransMIT GmbH was founded in 1996 as a joint project of the Central Hessian universities, Volksbanken and Sparkassen as well as the IHK Gießen-Friedberg.
